Paul O’Kelly, of Wishing Tree Road, St Leonards, was left with cuts to his hand and arm after pushing the trolley around while doing his shopping after work at Tesco Extra on September 27.
The ambulance service worker said he was treated with little sympathy and never received an apology, and waited a few weeks before speaking out to see if he ever got one.

Hide AdTesco claims staff did apologise and offered him first aid which he turned down but he cannot understand how the trolley was in circulation at the Church Wood Drive store.
“I think the way they dealt with me was disgusting,” he said.
“I went up there and injured myself on their negligence and all I got was walked to the door.”
Mr O’Kelly, 54, only realised he and his shopping was covered in red, due to having blood thinness, when he got to the checkout, which makes him fear his blood could have been all over the supermarket.

Hide AdHaving just started working for South East Coast Ambulance Service, he feels worried about the lack of concern from staff about contamination of produce in the supermarket.
The father-of-three was also concerned after he returned the next day to complain and saw the same trolley outside the store, something Tesco also disputes.
“There’s nothing more important than the safety of our customers and in this instance, our colleagues at Hastings Extra offered Mr O’Kelly an apology and first aid,” a Tesco spokesman said.
“We also removed the trolley from customer use.”
Three weeks after the incident, Mr O’Kelly says he is yet to receive an apology and does not feel comfortable shopping at Tesco anymore.
