Communal refuse points set up in Arundel and Walberton
Arun District Council contractors, Verdant, will collect rubbish left on the grassed area at the corner of Ford Road and Torton Road, in Arundel, and 4x4 vehicles are out trying to pick up what they can from hard-to-reach areas.
In Walberton, residents have been asked to drop off their refuse at the grassed area by the duck pond.

(Wednesday, January 13) and tomorrow so residents can drop off refuse at these points if they wish to and can do so safely.
"Sand has been put down, however residents are reminded they will be doing this at their own risk and rubbish must be contained securely and not block pavements or the highway."
She added that 4x4 vehicles had been deployed to clear rubbish in Slindon, but that the conditions had been too dangerous. Side roads in Yapton, Climping, Ford and Barnham, she said, had also been difficult to negotiate, and could expect to be serviced
