June Nicholson, 86, and Sheila Bolton, 85, followed Rachel down the aisle at St Mary de Haura Church in Shoreham on Thursday, August 11. They then watched as she was married to 27-year-old Andrew McCauley. Rachel was also attended by bridesmaids Bethany Bolton, the bride’s cousin, and Kerry McCauley, the bridegroom’s sister. Rachel is the daughter of Tim and Ruth Bolton, of Brighton Road, Lancing. Andrew, a retail assistant, is the son of Patrick and Bernie McCauley, of Montgomery Street, Hove. The bride wore an ivory, strapless, beaded tulle gown with a short train. Her bridesmaids were dressed in full-length mint green dresses and the two grandmothers had ivory trouser suits with mint green lace tops, to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. Ruth said: “June and Sheila were delighted to play such an important role on their granddaughter’s wedding day. “It was Rachel’s lifelong dream to have both her grandmothers follow her down the aisle as her matrons of honour.” The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at Tottington Manor in Edburton. Rachel works as a teacher at Upper Beeding Primary School and the newlyweds have made their home in West Street, Sompting, following a honeymoon in Sorrento, Italy.
