Lorry catches fire near Cross in Hand pub

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two fire engines were sent to the incident near the Cross in Hand pub at just before 7am this morning.
A spokesman said: “Two appliances were mobilised to a large vehicle fire along the A267 Heathfield Road, Cross in Hand, at 6.55am this morning.

Hide Ad“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 1-in-7 foam and one hose reel jet to tackle the fire.
“Crews left the scene at 9am.”
According to traffic reports, the road is passable but remains partially blocked.
The incident is affecting traffic between Heathfield and Maresfield.
