Development threat

WHEN the Dell estate was built 30 years ago, the size of Angmering increased by 50 per cent, as the number of houses rose from 2,200 to 3,200 and the development of Bramley Green in the early 2000s added another 650 houses, enlarging the village by a further 27 per cent.

Angmering is now under threat from further development, with the prospect of up to 700 more houses being built on the land between Roundstone Lane and the Angmering bypass.

Barratts/David Wilson Homes are proposing to erect 301 houses on Manor Nurseries and fields to the south of that site and Worthing Rugby Club has stated that it will move from its present site in Roundstone Lane if another local site can be found, opening up the possibility of a further 200 houses.
