Linda has been working for the Worthing-based charity for 11 years and was keen to support it as she knows how much it relies on donations.
She was due to run the Brighton Marathon on April and now the revised version, called The Edit, has been cancelled, she will run a virtual marathon this weekend instead.

“In the spring of 2019, I completed the Gatwick Half Marathon as a challenge to myself. At that point, I really didn’t think I could run any further or even wanted to! It was later on that year that I thought I could really push my boundaries and see if I could run a marathon.
“I decided to run for Safe in Sussex to support their vital work because I’ve seen first hand what a difference it makes to those affected by domestic abuse. Safe in Sussex is a small charity which relies on donations as it gets very limited government funding.”
Since January, Linda has been training up to four times a week and has continued to brave the elements through lockdown, running in all weathers to prepare for the marathon, even when the date kept changing.
