Sussex Decides: Where will you be voting? A swimming pool or a fire station?
The majority of polling stations across the country will be located in schools, village halls, community centres or libraries.
Although Arun District Council does have its fair share of public buildings that are used as polling stations, they also have some rather unusual venues too.

Hide AdNigel Lynn, Returning Officer, Arun District Council said: “Arun District Council feel it’s important to use the local facilities available to us to ensure that all our residents have access to a Polling station regardless of how bizarre they may initially appear. As the largest District in West Sussex, it is inevitable that some of our residents live in rural and semi-rural locations. To ensure that the majority of voters have access to a Polling station we utilise some unusual venues.”
Some of the venues used are Arundel Lido swimming pool, The Bell Tower at Lyminster Parish Church, The Weighing Room at Fontwell Racecourse, The George and Dragon Pub at Houghton and East Preston Fire Station.
There is also the chance for residents to visit the polling station at Poling! A station set up in a private residence that caters for an electorate of 147 voters.
