The Spitfires and Hurricanes which set off from Goodwood flew right over Selsey Bill, giving residents the perfect vantage points to witness a moment in history.
Cars lined the road into Selsey as people got out to stand and watch, and at the Selsey Centre a special event took place to mark the 75th anniversary display.

Selsey Town Council chairman Mike Beal said: “We knew they would be flying right over Selsey and what with people’s interest in the Battle of Britain we saw this as a golden opportunity to hold this event.
“It’s been pulled together by lots of different people in Selsey, not just the town council but Selsey British Legion who held a commemorative drumhead service and we had sandwiches and cakes donated by Waves Cafe.
“Everyone is here to commemorate those who died and served during the war.”
