Drummy wants to bring Chelsea's superstars' traits to Crawley

The new Crawley head coach is making his maiden voyage into first team football after a successful career at under-21 and academy level.
Within that he has worked with Chelsea first team players, but knows he must learn to suit the style of the division he finds himself in.

Hide AdAs a result of that, he has brought in former Aldershot Town man Matt Gray as his assistant, who has a vast knowledge of League One and Two.
On whether he can adapt to any level, Drummy said: “I think if you are flexible, but if you are arrogant saying ‘I worked as this, I worked at Chelsea’ then you are blind.
“(I have) to come here and talk to the players, meet the fans, meet the staff and then understand I have to take it somewhere.
“I can’t answer that until I come into Crawley and have a look at the place, one thing I do hope is that I am approachable and have enough common sense at my age to change what is needed.

Hide Ad“I think you have to learn to win. I have taken the first team (Chelsea) on international week and done the reserve team with (Nicolas) Anelka being in it, with (Florent) Malouda being in it, I have worked with those players.
“I know they are elite talents, but some of the traits that John Terry had in training, that (Frank) Lampard, that Didier (Drogba) did, I would like to bring it here.
“You can still demand a standard of excellence from any human being.”
