Rooks secure loan of Bristol Rovers' Fraser

Fraser is an ex-Brighton & Hove Albion schoolboy and is the brother of Albion's Tommy Fraser. He is set to join the squad in time for Lewes's final friendly of the pre-season, against Havant & Waterlooville. Lewes boss Kevin Keehan said, "He's a good footballer and he's obviously done well. "They are really pleased with him at Bristol Rovers but they'd like him to have a little bit of experience of conference football before he goes back and tries to break into the Rovers first team. Work commitments are hampering Richard Carpenter's decision to join the club. The ex-Albion man has just started a new job and working hours are currently making it difficult for him to commit to playing for anybody next season. Another Keehan target, Scott Taylor, is holding out for a full-time contract. It is believed Oxford United have made an offer for Taylor, who has a good pedigree at Blackpool and Plymouth Argyle before his leg break at Grays Athletic last season. Lewes have announced prices for the pre-season friendly with Albion on Saturday, July 19 (kick off 3pm). They are 10 for an adult and 5 for senior citizens and 14 to 16-year-olds. Under 14s are 2. All other friendlies are 5 for adults, 2 for senior citizens and 14-16-year-olds, while under 14s can get in for free. The other friendlies are: St Francis Rangers away (Tuesday, July 15, ko 7.45pm), Burgess Hill away (Tuesday, July 22, ko 7.45pm), Horsham at home (Thursday, July 24, ko 7.45pm), Hastings United away (Saturday, July 26, ko 3pm) and Havant at home (Saturday, August 2, ko 3pm). Lewes FC have appointed James Boyes as new programme and website editor. A statement released this week said, "James Boyes takes up the position immediately. Lewes FC website is currently being updated to include many new exciting features, including interviews, more variety, direct merchandise access, and match highlights available within 24 hours of the games. The website will be the place to visit to find out first what is happening at Lewes FC." Lewes FC's Supporters' Club are meeting at the John Harvey Tavern on Monday evening to discuss the possibility of setting up a Supporters' Trust. The meeting will start at 7.30pm. Two votes will be taken at the meeting: to form a Trust to represent the Lewes Football Club Supporters Club and to dissolve the Lewes Football Club Supporters Club in its current form. A letter sent to the members by supporters club chairman Steve Watts said, "The meeting will be open to members and non-members to attend a presentation by two representatives from Supporters Direct who will speak on the benefits of this conversion. "In summary by voting to change to a supporters trust we will be adopting model rules from supporters direct and become registered as an industrial and provident society (IPS) with the Financial Services Authority. "It is worth highlighting some of the key powers that we would have if we set up as an IPS, they include: Buying and holding shares in the football club; Establishing any lawful fund-raising scheme; Promoting a means to give supporters greater opportunity to invest in the club; and Holding and exercising proxies for shares in any company owning or controlling the football club either itself or through a subsidiary. "The voting will be open to paid up members only and the motions will be passed by a majority show of hands in favour of 50 per cent or over, so we are hoping all can attend. "We hope that we can move forward quickly on this in order to ensure the best interests of Lewes Football Club are represented by the supporters."
