The Setting Sun in Hanover is set to reopen in April with a £314,000 refurb and a new menu.

The pub is undergoing an overhaul by Heineken-owned Star Pubs & Bars and new licensees Fynn Chamberlain and Kathryn Joyce – who manages the Fountain Head on North Road.

Work includes a new kitchen, an overhaul of the toilets and a 'modern industrial' feel inside.

There will be a new, covered pergola area with heaters, and the garden, which seats 20, will also benefit from new furniture and planters.

And the front of the pub will be redecorated and have new signage, the owners say.

The new Setting Sun menu is set to include pub classics such as burgers, sausage and mash, fish and chips, sharing platters and Sunday roast with all meat, fish and vegetables being locally sourced.

Light bites will include as paninis, halloumi fries, buffalo chicken wings and cheesy chips, as well as a children’s menu.
