Whiteways Lodge at Bury Hill played host to the three-mile trek, with a final sponsorship tally of 2,000 heading to the charity Children with Leukaemia, which has worked for 20 years to fight Britain's biggest childhood cancer. Karen White, administration manager of the Pet Doctors practice in Flansham Lane, Felpham, said: "We had 30 clients and 18 dogs on the walk, the weather was kind to us and I think we will look at doing it again. "We'd never done this before but the feedback we've had has been excellent." With Pet Doctors matching donations pound-for-pound up to 1,000, participants have been busy raising funds, with one Felpham client doubling their 80 target out of their own pocket. Practice nurse Belinda Eversfield said: "We're passionate about supporting the vital work that both animal and human charities carry out and, in these difficult times, they need our help more than ever."
